During the four years I lived in Tanzania, I developed very close relationships with a number of local safari operators and guides. If Africa is a dream destination of yours, then consider a 7 or 10-day guided photo safari. Tanzania is the ideal location with simply the best of Africa: the Serengeti Plains, Mount Kilimanjaro, The Great Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Crater plus all the wildlife you’d expect to see on safari. As well, we include cultural visits to get a real feel for life in Africa.

FINE ART COURSES – 4 sessions each

Art of Photography I

Beginning with the fine techniques of photography, this series challenges you to think and work like an artist.

Fine Art 2: Learning to See All Over Again

Rather than a “teaching” workshop, this course is based on weekly assignments that will challenge you to see in new ways. In each session, we will learn from photographs submitted from your assignments.

Processing Images using Lightroom

Sat 18 Feb & Sat 25 Feb
9am to 3:30pm

Discover the wonders of Lightroom in this two-part, hands-on workshop:

Part I – Sat. 18 Feb: This is for beginners to Lightroom. In the morning, we will create your LR Catalogue, import images, set up import presets, keyword images and set up collections. In the afternoon, we will work on the rudiments of the Develop module, learning the basics of processing in colour and black & white and exporting images as jpegs and to Flickr.

Part II – Sat. 25 Feb: Now that you are comfortable with LR, we can get down to some advanced techniques: adjustment brushes, graduated masks, tone curves, lens corrections, split toning and sharpening. In the afternoon, we’ll continue with instruction on the Print Module when you will print a 13x19” fine art print.

Cost: Part I is $100; Part II is $125. Sign up for both parts for $200. Additional prints in Part 2 are $25. Maximum of 10 participants.

If you are just discovering LR, you can download a 30-day free trial from Adobe.com either now, or in time for the LR workshop in February. Email me today to reserve your spot!
